Hello everyone. Lewis and I just wanted to give you an update of what's been going on this past year in regards to Claire's Camp.. Let us first start by saying thank you for all your support during this difficult period of our life. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. As we approach the one year anniversary of the fundraiser for Claire's Camp, we want to share with you what's been happening to make our dream a reality. We are excited to have our first potential camper, a five year old cancer patient, who contacted us through the website.

First, we have had multiple visits from various representatives of the Greenville Hospital System. Our goals were to enlist their help "recruiting" potential children and their families for a Claire's Camp visit as well as getting feedback from them on what we need to do make the camp a success.

Also, a group of three University of Georgia Forestry graduate students selected the property as their thesis project. Their study was done to best determine appropriate land use for Claire's Camp which included recommendations on trail systems, wildlife viewing areas and water entertainment. These students did a wonderful and very thorough job.

This first year has been spent collecting information necessary to make Claire's Camp an enjoyable experience for its visitors. We are now moving into the property improvement phase and have identified several projects that need immediate attention. They include: dock replacements, cabin and deck updates, and trail work to name a few.
We are looking forward to hosting multiple families at Claire's Camp this next year. Please visit the website regularly as we will continue to post updates as events take place.

Thanks for your continued support.
Lewis & Suzanne
